Conscious Wellness
One for Health's Conscious Wellness programs are led by OFH advisor Michelle Corey of Boston Biofeedback. The summaries of these innovative programs are listed below:
Food for Fuel - Nutrition 101 -This program teaches students to see how food can help build them up, get better grades and be fit, or do the opposite and take away from being their best. We instill the food basic building-blocks to start the foundation for life, and educate them on the importance of food choices to create a healthy future. Label reading activities and more.
Good Vibes – The power of your thoughts creates your life - This program is designed to help children recognize the basics of being happy. It will teach them about energy, bring awareness to their thoughts, and make them aware they have control of their lives. It encourages them to elevate themselves to make better choices, know they can manage their thoughts, and excel to their fullest potential while increasing confidence and self-esteem.
Brain Storms - Dealing with Today’s Toxins -Students will become familiar with the toxins of today’s world, with an emphasis on the electromagnetic world we live in ( internet, gaming, phones ), and the negative effect they have on the mind and body. We create a fun and engaging environment with games and rewards.
Ants in my Pants: Go Away! How to quiet the mind and reduce unknown stress - Students will learn techniques to reduce stress that leads to anxiety and learn to recognize where they hold stress in their body. They will become familiar with meditation and breathing techniques, as well as, discover how to calm themselves, and manage stress in healthy ways.
