One For Health (OFH) is committed to helping children adopt a healthy lifestyle by providing innovative wellness programs and workshops that equip them with the knowledge and skills to develop and retain healthy habits. Food insecurity is a growing problem for children in America. In 2017, an estimated 12 million children in the U.S. lack consistent access to enough food for an active, healthy life according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
Check out the video below to see BestSelf4Kids in Action:

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County is partnering with One For Health to provide at least 30 children ages 7 to 12 with yoga instruction and nutrition education at two of its locations.
This program, called BestSelf4Kids, is a four-week pilot that runs Tuesdays at the Newtown Estates Park Boys & Girls Club in Newtown and Thursdays at the Robert and Joan Lee Boys & Girls Club in Venice.
After discovering that millions of children in the United States lack consistent access to enough food for an active, healthy life, OFH made a commitment to help children adopt a robust lifestyle by providing innovative wellness programs and workshops that equip them with the knowledge and skills to develop and retain positive habits.
Thanks to a corporate grant focused on wellness opportunities for kids, OFH now offers this program at no cost in Boys & Girls Clubs throughout the United States.
BestSelf4Kids introduces Club members and staff to an innovative and fun combination of yoga, nutrition classes and free fully nutritional and convenient meal replacement bars to support them during the school week when freshly prepared food is unavailable or impractical.
OFH also connected Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County with a certified yoga instructor Jamie Coffey, who also happens to be a dear friend of the organization. Jamie is the Founder/Director of Be Hummingbird, which is a venture dedicated to helping people feel better through the trans-formative power of yoga while providing opportunities for connection through private instruction, workshops, events and retreats.
Look at some of our student members' comments:
"Yoga helps me relax after school,” said Talia, 8. “I like taking deep breaths and stretching. Ms. Jamie is the best teacher!”
Each session begins with yoga instruction and ends with a nutritional lesson.
“I’m learning how to make healthier choices,” said Ariana, 11. “I know how important it is to eat breakfast so I can have energy all day long. The bars Ms. Jamie gives us are delicious!”
